Boogie Friday

I haven't got time for a lot of writing at the moment (I'm moving house tomorrow) so I thought I'd go with someone who doesn't need a lot of introductory blather. You do know who Donna Summer is, don't you? Excellent. Apart from the monumental, epochal, history-changing "I Feel Love" this is my favourite record of hers (I may even prefer this), but it's one that doesn't seem to get much play which is a shame as it's absolutely stunning. "Could It Be Magic" from 1976 was originally recorded (and written) by none other than Mr. Barry Manilow and his grand ballad is given a glittery disco makeover by the brilliance of Giorgio Moroder. This is the long version from the album "Love Trilogy" with the "Prelude To Love" intro which gives Donna a chance for a bit of the moaning and groaning she'd patented with her previous single "Love To Love You Baby."
And I have to say, does she look sexy in the above photo or what?

Prelude To Love/Could It Be Magic - Donna Summer

Nice! This melody is reminding me of No Doubt's "Don't Speak", Irene Cara's "Fame", and another song I can't come up with right now. This must be the original!
Wow. When I was a kid I used to perform to the Live and More album in front of the mirror w/ hair brush all the time! This is such a great song! Thanks for tunes!
Hi,
I visit your site regularly. I´ve never commented because I usually don´t have time, but I think it´s great. Some pals and I are constructing our own mp3 blog, and we´d like to let you know as soon as it´s up, via a massive email. We´ll be sending this mail to all those sites we visit and respect. if you agree, you can send me an email address to my own mail. It´s just because letting you know site by site would take too long.

That has to be one of the gayest covers I've ever heard . . . and I should know! ;-)
