Expectancy

Apologies for the increasingly erratic nature of posts lately but I do have a very good reason. My wife is expecting a baby this week so my brain isn't exactly able to focus on this blogging lark.

In the meantime however, this track pretty much sums up how I feel right now. A song that's also been done by Baby Washington and Dusty Springfield, but this is my favourite version.

Funny - I just saw the pic of the barefoot groovy sixties chick then the name of the song and thought 'Brilliant, so Sandy Shaw did "I Cant Wait To See My Baby's Face"...naturally: that song is custom-made for her voice.' eheh

Reminds me of a female impersonator act I saw in the late 70s. As the song played, lights dimmed, he'd come on stage dressed as Sandy Shaw with his back to the audience miming .. "I walk along the city streets you you used to walk along with me..." As soon as he reached the chorus, the lights would come up, he'd turn to the audience in his sparkly mini dress and, pointing to a huge stomach, scream, "There's always something there to remind me".

Well it was fuckin funny at the time.

All the very best Lee to you and your wife. Get some sleep in.

Congratulations! Maybe one of us soul bloggers should put up "Color Him Father" by the Winstons and dedicate it to you!

All the best to you and yours. Try not to spend too much time worrying about what songs to put up next lol!

Although there's an obvious Stevie Wonder tune if it's a girl you're about to have.
