The face rings a bell


This picture was taken in 1977 at The Roxy club in London and if you can tear your eyes away from the two leggy young ladies in the foreground for a second, have a look at the bloke at the back on the left. Isn’t that Howard Devoto? I think it is.

  2. Well. Indeed it might be Howard Devoto. And probably Pete Shelley too. But who cares with those two leggy young ladies in the foreground. That’s what I remember of the Roxy as a 16 year old just out of catholic boy’s school. I was equally terrified and enthralled by these girls in leather, ripped fishnet and evil black make up.
