Junior Choice

My daughter loves rockets and spaceships and when she saw the sleeve of ELO's "Out of The Blue" album she went "oooooooooooh!" like a 12-year-old boy who had just seen the mothership in Close Encounters for the first time. Now she refers to it as "the rocket record" which, as a huge ELO fan back in the olden days, makes me very happy indeed.
"The Whale" probably isn't her cup of apple juice as it's a very trippy instrumental and she prefers to bop around to the uptempo numbers, but I thought I'd play it anyway as it's quite an unusual track for ELO. These days they'd call this Chill Out music but back in 1977 I just thought it was a bit odd. Sure is pretty though, I wonder if The Orb ever heard this.

Glad to see you back...
Thoughts are with you.
One of life minor regrets - missing the "Out of the Blue" tour when it came to Boston.
As above - nice to see you home, and being surrounded by the life that you love (despite your loss). Hopefully your mother shines through in your beautiful daughter from time to time. Tho' by the sound of things, your little one doesn't like the swing of old blue eyes. :)
Peace in time.

I saw them on that tour at Wembley, with the spaceship and everything. First concert I ever went to.

She's a sweet talkin woman and no mistake.
Welcome back our kid.
My sister and her boyfriend went to the Boston gig. Bastards.
My first concert was "America" at the Club Casino in Hampton Beach 1980 or 1981 (not quite the same effect as the giant spaceship, I'm afraid). They were about 5 years past the height of their popularity, doing the "Abracadabra" tour.
They (sister and boyfriend) also went to see the Eagles on the Long Run tour without me. Double bastards.

Correction - that would be "You Can Do Magic" for America (getting my prestidigital disposable hits of the early 80's mixed up; that would be Steve Miller Band for the aforementioned Abracadabra).
