Something for the weekend
Lots to enjoy in this TOTP clip. Not just the lovely face and voice of Polly Brown but some really unfortunate hair choices (you'll know who I mean) and dancing dollies shaking their thing. The drummer looks a bit bored though.

Is it just me or does Mr Unfortunate Hair Choice look like one of the Ancient Briton associates of Jim Dale in Carry On Cleo?
Brilliant. I've always loved this song. Surely it's only a matter of time before you post 'S-s-single Bed by Fox' - the proto-Goldfrapp, and 'Son of my Father by Chicory Tip'.

This perfectly encapsulates where the 60s met the 70s in a mixed up technicolour whirl. (Albeit only available in black n white).

Which one is Mr Unfortunate Hair I spotted two excellent candidates. The poor girl must have been silently mortified going out there with those two.
"Unfortunate hair Choice" my arse. It's annoying the same way it's annoying when watching the film clip for The Beatle singing "Hey Jude" and it gets to the part where everyone's gathered around the Fabs and are clapping along, and all of a sudden there's this bespectacled git standing next to Ringo and everyone goes "Jeez what a nerd!"
Look, he may a nerd of the first division, but friend, he's STANDING NEXT TO RINGO STARR, and all the riches you could ever possess will never enable you to be in that place and time.
Similarly, the Pickettywitch fellow could be bald, have three eyes and no teeth, but for the love of Heaven, he's singing along with Polly Brown...he's in a place you and I will will never be, and for that he deserves respect, if not dollops of envy.
And that's the name of that tune.
