Something for the weekend

At my old blog I use to post dance music on a Friday in celebration of going out dancing at the weekend. Now I post nostalgic old videos which is the blogging equivalent of a quiet night in front of the telly with a mug of cocoa. What an old fart I've turned into.

But, damn it, I feel like another go around the dance floor. If the old joints can take it that is, this is over 7 minutes long so I might need a sit down and a drink before the end.

I have read your blog about three years and we always seem to enjoy the same music/remember the same things etc...for that reason I thought you might enjoy Nat King Bing And The Kings Of Scwhing http://www.lmmuk.com/band/Nat+King+Bing+and+The+Kings+Of+Schwing which is the band I put together playing jazz versions of indie/pop,old skool and rock classics...we played Birmingham Jazz Festival yesterday and I am still buzzing!

I'm a recent reader of your blog and am curious where you source your photos from - scour the web or scan 'em from your own collection of books etc?

cheers

Mostly I scour the web but a lot come from photo libraries I have access to because I'm a graphic designer.

I loved that track, I would have been dancing and picking up some lucky lady down in Somerset, usually a funny little country town called Somerton that had a disco, strangely it was well over an hour from home, while Weston Super Mare was only a short ten minutes with all it's disco's, the thing was the country girls were better looking and less mouthy than the brummy birds who frequented WSM on holiday.
