I knew this was Kiki Dee before the clip appeared..John's right, she did an album for Motown - Great Expectation. The Day Will Come Between Sunday is belter
Agree, Kiki has a great voice. Picked up a couple her 70s albums at car boots recently for peanuts. It seems to me, though, nobody (including Kiki?) has ever appeared to know which musical style suits her best. The albums I have are uneven but I think ballads and a more acoustic backdrop suit her best. "Amoureuse" and "Loving And Free" are my favourites. The beauty and tenderness in her voice really shine on those tracks.
Mondo: Hey, I've got that "Day Will Come Between Sunday and Monday" on a single. A great track.
The sentimental musings of an ageing British expat in words, music, and pictures. Files are only up for a limited time so drink them while they're hot.

Wasn't she signed to Motown for a while right at the start of her career?
She did appear a couple of weeks ago at the PRS Benevolent Fund concert at the Albert Hall at which there was a Faces reunion (of sorts - no Rod).
She didn't take lead vocal on any Faces stuff but did some magic duets with an acoustic guitarist whose name escapes me.

Great voice. Actually, a modern equivalent would be KT Tunstall -- a lot of similarities.
Got to love that piano player though!

The album's well worth grabbing Darcy ~ downloads are available via blog search if you can't find the vinyl..
"...She should have been singing duets with Rod Stewart (backed by The Faces)..."
But she did appear in a film that also featured the Small Faces. Just found this:

How about that!
Bradford's finest singer. (Notwithstanding Gareth Gates, Kimberley Walsh, Smokie and Tasmin Archer ... obviously).
Brilliant, thanks!
