Something for the weekend

A friend of mine was convinced that the “Cy Grant” who voiced Captain Scarlet was actually Cary Grant. While I must admit he did sound a lot like him somehow I doubt it was.
And is it weird that I thought Destiny Angel was really sexy? She was a bloody puppet! I also had a thing for Aqua Marina.

Not sure about Destiny Angel, however I did find out something when I just checked her picture out – her given Date of Birth is exactly 101 years after my fathers. freaky.
I did always think that Captain Scarlett had a bit of Elvis about him or was that just me?
My big crushes in my early years were – Sharon McReady of The Champions (Alexandra Bastedo) and Samantha Stevens (Elizabeth Mongomery) from Bewitched, as far as I know they were real people unlike you and your wooden doll fetish – that’s just sick
Sings …. “Mariiina, Aqua Mariiina….” a fragment of memory from (goodness) probably 45 years ago. I used to pretend to be Marina in the bath when I was so little it was possible to float around ‘pretending’ using flannels to replicate the flowing hair/clothing/seaweed. Kids imagination, brilliant!
Your Cy Grant is surely the Cy Grant who died earlier this year aged 90 : first black face to appear regularly on the BBC according to Wikipedia and that is as I remember it.Nadia Cattouse, mentioned in the same article, was another similar,on the folk music scene. Both extremely and diversely talented individuals but ultimately under appreciated.
Hello, I think you’ll find that Cy Grant voiced Lieutenant Green. Francis Matthews voiced Captain Scarlet – well known English actor
Curses!
Great blog! I had to comment on this post. I too had a ‘thing’ for Marina. But to be perfectly honest and after all these years I still have the hots for Lady Penelope! Maybe I just go for posh totty! ;-)
