A quick question : Who was the show presenter at the beginning and end of the clip? Didn’t he also used to be on the Basil Brush show?

PS: I watched only the first 5 seconds, prompted by Duncan’s question. Couldn’t summon the courage to watch any more.

Now I’m older, I find the idea for this quite comical. (Although I don’t need to watch it again – obviously).
The whole Hylda Baker ‘She knows y’know’ Lancashire malapropism madness was extremely well conceived and undoubtedly influencial to those that followed. I suspect that anyone who served a long apprenticeship through British Music Halls deserves respect.
I recall reading that she kept pet monkeys and (I can say this without fear of contraception) had a voracious appetite for very young men.
And Lee … I always had Arthur down as your favourite uncle.
I still don’t want to watch it though.
I guess that’s the cold shower I needed after the other video.
