The whole Hylda Baker ‘She knows y’know’ Lancashire malapropism madness was extremely well conceived and undoubtedly influencial to those that followed. I suspect that anyone who served a long apprenticeship through British Music Halls deserves respect.
I recall reading that she kept pet monkeys and (I can say this without fear of contraception) had a voracious appetite for very young men.
And Lee … I always had Arthur down as your favourite uncle.
