Ah know what ah like

We soft Southern pooftahs liked to joke that Woodbines were only smoked by gruff blokes from oop North who wore flat caps, raced pigeons, and liked to proudly declare their narrow-minded prejudices by saying “I know what I like and I like what I know” — especially when it came to things they considered fancy, modern, or foreign.
Well, I used to think it was a joke but, according this ad, it was true!

Download: Adventures In A Yorkshire Landscape – Be Bop Deluxe (mp3)

Be Bop Deluxe! That tune brings back a few good memories. have you heard the live version on Live! In the Air Age, I used to play it endlessly in the dark with my headphones on. I wonder what ever happened to Bill Nelson?
Love this tune, made me homesick when I lived in Australia. Now I’m having my own adventures in a Yorkshire landscape again. Bill is still going strong, living in Selby and has returned to his roots, musically. After years of putting out music that I found to be a bit to twiddly and inaccesible he has recently come out with some cracking stuff. And he is no longer averse to trotting out the oldies:

Great clip. Not sure about the fretless bass solo though, something a bit too muso about that.
Ooooh Mick, that were lovely, thanks!
