Something for the Weekend

I adore David Bowie when he lets his inner art-school boy run wild and gives us brilliant WTF moments like this.
This rare clip is from 1979 and features our Dave with Klaus Nomi on backing vocals and Jimmy Destri of Blondie on keyboards. Fabulous stuff.

That’s a great way to start off Friday!
Performance!
And Blondie would do“Heroes” with Robert Fripp the next year…
You’ve seen Boys Keep Swinging rendition from the same show, with Bowie as a Pelham Puppet? Well worth digging around the net for
We had just moved to the U.S. from Ealing. My brother and I were about 12-13, we would sneak downstairs at 11:30PM to see who would be performing on SNL, this program. When we saw Bowie, wearing a dress with heels, and then being carried out by Klaus, and the other cat, we were blown away to say the least. Our Dad got sick of us watching the VHS taping constantly, and smashed the tape to smithereens, and could not understand our fascination with with man who dressed like a woman (I’m Indian). Thanks for the always nostalgic posts.
Sonny D – great story
This is awesome! Thanks for sharing
