When you get older it’s common to start thinking that modern pop music is rubbish and the younger generation are more stupid, superficial, and self-absorbed than you were at their age.
I try to avoid doing that because I know every generation thinks the ones after it likes crap music and are a sign that the world is going to hell.
But has the thought ever crossed your mind that for once, maybe, it could be true?
Mind you, only yesterday evening I had a conversation with Little Loser (aged 6)about that: he dropped the name Justin Bieber and I was astonished that he knew him at all (it turned out he only saw him once when guest-appearing in some kids’ show on the telly), so I said: “you really think he sings better than The Clash?” and the response was: “you know, Daddy, Justin Bieber is three thousand million three hundred (he’s not that safe with figures yet, as you can tell) times better than The Clash. And he looks way better!”
So there you are, education failed … oh boy!!

Wow … after that blistering cover, I had to dig further to check out the road to hell on which my kids are destined. Funnily enough, there wasn’t one mention of rock music ….
